Our Services

Surgery & Dental

Our veterinarians are skilled in routine surgery and provide spay, neuter, dental, and other common surgical services. All patients are closely monitored by trained veterinary technicians and assistants while under anesthesia according to AAHA recommendations and protocols.

Preventative Care

We believe the best cure is prevention, whether that means keeping your pet's annual vaccinations up to date or ensuring that they receive effective medications to thwart those pesky parasites. Van Stavern Small Animal Hospital offers competitively-priced prescriptions filled both in-house and through our online pharmacy.

Boarding

We offer boarding for both cats and dogs. Boarding with our hospital means your pet will have a team of caretakers who already know your pet and its history, and can receive medical care if any new problems should arise. Our staff record and monitor information for each boarding pet to make sure issues are noted and cared for quickly and effectively.

Exams and Consultations

Every veterinarian's most important tools are their own senses and the knowledge gained by quality schooling and experience. Our veterinarians provide comprehensive examinations from the tip of your pet's nose to the end of their tail. Our goal is to provide top quality service by having an open conversation with our clients regarding the care of their cherished furry family members and treatment options tailored to fit each individual. Our veterinarians are also able to provide basic counseling for general care, including nutrition and behavior.

Diagnostic Testing

Our facility has the capability to run many basic lab tests, including blood chemistry, CBC, urinalysis, cytology evaluation, and more with same-day results. Proximity to Texas A&M University and partnership with IDEXX Laboratories also allows us to run more extensive and comprehensive diagnostic testing when necessary.

Surgery & Dental

Our veterinarians are skilled in routine surgery and provide spay, neuter, and dental services. Our hospital is also equipped to handle many other types of procedures, and can refer patients to Texas A&M Small Animal Hospital as needed for procedures which require a specialist. All patients and their vital signs are closely monitored by trained veterinary technicians and assistants while under anesthesia to help ensure that all goes smoothly while your pet is anesthetized. Our facility follows AAHA recommendations and protocols for surgical and dental procedures, including multi-modal pain management, IV fluid administration, and administration of appropriate medications. Dental radiographs are part of every cleaning to ensure that your pet's entire mouth is healthy. We also provide microchipping services, which is often done in conjunction with surgery, while your pet is under anesthesia, for their comfort.
