Bala
Bala is an 8 & 1/2 year old female calico domestic shorthair
Name Meaning: The name Bala comes from the Farsi word for calamity or nuisance.
Favorite Treat: Canned chicken
Least Favorite Food: Carrots
Favorite Toy: Her favorite toy is an Aggie ring when it’s left on the counter or an unattended cup full of water.
Favorite Game: Her favorite game is to hunt the birds at the bird feeder through the front window.
Best Trick/Talent: The coolest thing Bala does is come when called after being let out in the backyard.
Favorite Place: In mom’s lap or in the cat tree.
Favorite Silly Thing to Do: Sprint through the entire house at midnight or later.
Funniest Story: Bala isn’t allowed outside in the front yard because it’s not fenced, but she still used to try to bolt out the front door sometimes. Once, she sprinted out the front door when it was open and tried to run away before I could catch her and make her come back inside. She tired to run up a tree to hide but the tree was straight up and down and she only made it halfway up the trunk and got stuck there until I walked over and pulled her off!
Best tip for a happy veterinary visit: Bala is a calico and she’s feisty. Last year during her annual appointment she bit a vet tech and I was appalled. This year, because of COVID, she went inside for her annual while I stayed in the car and I was told she was a perfect little angel during her exam, purring and all. So apparently having a good appointment means mom stays in the car! Also, I don’t feed her the morning of an appointment so she’s less likely to get carsick in her kennel en route.
